In 2003 d-SY issued a tender for the provision of novel ICT 'business networking' activities for the benefit of the SOuth Yorkshire Creative & Digital Industries (CDI). In response to that tender, a consortium led by Dunelm, suggested the creation of a set of ICT Special Interest Groups. This tender was accepted. The corresponding set of established Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are:
  • @Home – eLoki
  • E-learning - eLoki
  • Freelancers - Psydev
  • Free/Libre Open Source Software - Bradwell IT Solutions
  • GRID Technologies - Dunelm
  • .NET - Epitomy
  • Professional Development - Dunelm and BCS (South Yorkshire)

Dunelm was the prime contractor and was responsible for the overall management of the delivery of the SIGs.

Deliverables:
For each of the SIGs the following deliverables were supplied:
  • Periodic newsletters - an average of 4 per year
  • Seminar/workshop series - an average of 4 per year
  • Web site - development of a web-site for the SIG
